I am a steering committee member of APASA (Asian Pacific American Staff Association) and have served on the Diversity Advisory Council.  I've been involved with Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (2004-5 chair & 2003-4 co-chair).  Currently, I am a faculty advisor for two De Anza student clubs, Asian Pacific American Students in Leadership (APASL), and De Anza Circle K intercollegiate service organization.

Education history: I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in English from U.C. Santa Barbara. I also have my B.S. in Psychobiology and a minor in English from University of Southern California.

Prior to coming to De Anza, I taught at the University of Connecticut as an assitant professor of English and Asian American Studies.  I was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts and did most of my growing up in Los Angeles.
