Grades as of Monday 12/7Link to copy of grades as of today. Grade Status as of 12/6/09
The column headings ran together so here is explanation of each column(from left to right):
*2nd ID (from attendance sheet)
*Museum paper: 250 points possible
*In class assignments after deleting the lowest score: 140 pts possible
*Online discussion extra credit points
*Total points including Test 1 & 2 (double your % grade to get points for tests) and items listed above. Total points possible thus far: 790.
*Your grade today as a percent.
*Your grade today as a letter grade.
NOTE 1:
If your grade today is 90% or higher on this report, you do not have to take Test 3. If you take Test 3, it will be computed in your course grade, even if it lowers your course grade. (NOTE: THIS IS CONTRARY TO WHAT I INITIALLY STATED IN CLASS. I checked with other instructors and this is how they handle it in their classes.)
NOTE 2:
If you do not have 90% or higher today, you must take Test 3 or you will receive a grade of zero out of 200 possible points.
NOTE 3:
Test 2 is worth 200 points plus extra credit Qs. This brings our course total possible pints to 990. (990 is 10 pts lower than the syllabus plan for 1000 pts because we did 1 less in-class assignment.)
TO CALCULATE HOW MANY POINTS YOU NEED TO GET A SPECIFIC GRADE FOR THE COURSE, USE THE FOLLOWING TABLE.
If appropriate, I will apply a curve, but so far, this class is already way ahead of any curve, so I doubt that it will be necessary.
TOTAL POINTS NEEDED FOR A COURSE GRADE:
A (90%+) REQUIRES AT LEAST 890 PTS
B (80%+) REQUIRES AT LEAST 792 PTS
C (70%+) REQUIRES AT LEAST 693 PTS
D (60%+) REQUIRES AT LEAST 594 PTS
