SEE BELOW FOR HOMEWORK ASSIGNED 4/21 AND DUE ON 4/28.
ON SATURDAY, 4/28 CLASS MEETS AT SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF ART http://www.sjmusart.org
Parking is free in certain lots on the weekend. See museum website for parking information, driving directions, public transportation and map.
Bring proof of student enrollment (student body card is best) for a reduced entry fee of $5.00. If you show a SJ Library Card, there is an additional discount of $2.00, reducing the entry fee to only $3.00. (Bring exact change if possible.) Be on the stairway in front of entrance doors no later than 10:50 to receive your assignment.
Bring your completed homework, plenty of blank paper or a notepad and pencil and your list of Formal Elements & Media distributed in class. Do not bring your books.Absolutely no pens inside a museum.
Leave large, heavy bulky objects, food and beverages in the car or check them at the entrance. See museum site for entry fees for non students. Non-student adults who come along can wander around the museum on their own, but they cannot participate in the assignment or discussions. Use common sense: young children will be bored and cranky long before you have finished your assignment and they are not allowed to wander on their own.

PART ONE
DO A TOTAL OF 6 IMAGE ID FORMS BASED ON OBJECTS FROM ANCIENT MEDITERRANEAN AS FOLLOWS: Your forms must be as complete as possible. To write, I don't know, means you didn't look it up and you will get no credit.

PART TWO:
MAKE 3 BLIND EXTERIOR CONTOUR DRAWINGS AS INSTRUCTED IN CLASS:
Each drawing should be done in ink, very, very slowly and capture every nuance;each one should fill a full page. DO not look at your paper, only at the object. Part of your success is to choose wisely: choose 3 different objects with interesting edges- try botanicals, (not manufactured objects). The objective is NOT to create a nice drawing but to FOCUS YOUR ATTENTION AND OBSERVE CAREFULLY. TRY to let your eyes control your hand movement, not your brain.
PART THREE: and very important:
IF YOU DID NOT SUBMIT HOMEWORK ON 4/21, DO SO NOW.
THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO GET CREDIT ON LATE HOMEWORK. FROM NOW ON, HOMEWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED ON THE DUE DATE OR NOT AT ALL.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT given on 4/14 (Homework will be graded)

Complete 3 Image Identification/Discussion Forms
Choose 3 images from 20th Century Art Book. Look at image and read info on that page. Fill out form-as much as you can complete, based on what you see and read in the book. Then, change ink color and do some research on the web- the brief information provided in the book should give you some leads to investigate on the internet. Change ink color. Add to and revise your Image ID form based on the new info you learned as a result of research.
