MATH 10 UPDATE
Welcome to Math 10 Summer 2008
Exam 3 will be returned on Modany 8/4.
Exam 3 solutions are already posted on the website.
The new updated chapter 12 notes for summer 2008 have now been posted.
Week of August 4-7
Overnight Take Home Quiz for Chapter 12 Distributed Mon. 8/4 DUE TUES 8/5 AT THE START OF CLASS Plan your time accordingly so that you can turn the chapter 12 quiz in on time when due. Chapter 12 take home quiz will be open book and open notes.
Chapter 11 will be covered on Tues. 8/5. Could possibly be started on Mon. 8/4.
FINAL EXAM in class on THURS 8/7. Yes you MUST take the final exam on that date!
COVERS CHAPTERS 1 through 12 and anything that was in the various lecture/chapter notes, even if it was not in the textbook. Final exam is all multiple choice so bring a scantron. Bring a number 2052 scantron (brown half page 4.25 by 11 inches, printed to have 50 questions per side; green same size is also acceptable).
BRING your calculator and spare batteries just in case!
You are permitted 2 pages (8.5 by 11 inches) of notes, two sided, HANDWRITTEN, not photocopied, scanned, printed from website or other sites or textbook.
If you bring the wrong size scantron or do not bring a scantron, you will have to leave the final exam to take a walk to the bookstore to BUY a scantron, and that will reduce the time you have available to do the final exam - you will not be given extra time if you need to do that. If you dod not bring your calculator, you will have to leave the final exam to take a walk to the library to borrow a calculator, which they will lend you ONLY if you have a DASB card. You will not be lent a calculator by the instructor, and you will not be given extra time if you need to leave to borrow a calculator.
It is highly suggested that you start reviewing for the final exam starting 8/1, after the ch 8,9,10 exam on 7/31. The end of each chapter has multiple choice problems in the homework. The assignments sheet posted online (that you were given on the first day of class) also has practice problems for each exam - these are good practice for the final exam. There are 2 practice final exams in the textbook and there are some practice final exams posted on Susan Dean's website - see the Web Support Resources information below for a link to Susan Dean's website.
Remember if you need help: the Math/Science Tutorial Center in Room S43 is open Monday through Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm and has statistics tutors almost all the time that it is open. The last day the tutorial center is open is Thursday July 31. It will be CLOSED starting August 1, so get help before it closes, if you need help.
