Math 49A

Math 49a Pre-Calculus Prerequisite: Math 51 Trigonometry

Textbook: Larson & Hostetler PreCalculus with Limits, 2007

Graphing Calculator Required; TI-83 or 84 recommended
The TI-89 and TI-92 graphing calculators (or any other brand or model of graphing calculator that has a CAS (computer algebra system) and can do symbolic mathematics will NOT be permitted on quizzes and exams in this class.

MATH 49A UPDATE

Final Exam Friday 6/27 9:15 to 11:15 am - note the early time!

Your minitests are graded and will be returned in class on Monday.
Solutions will be posted on the website over the weekend for both exam 3 and the minitest, now that the server and links are working again.
Our last 2 sections covered were:
10.5 rotation of axes:
limited portion of that section - p. 767 which is the next to last page of that section (not last page as I think I said in class.)
Appendix A6 absolute value inequalities: The method used in the textbook for absolute value inequalities is different from what I did in class. Either method is fine, but the one I demonstrated is consistent with the methods we learned in section 2.6, and also it tends to lead to fewer errors by students.
See assignments page for homework for 10.5 and A6

Monday's class (last day of regular classes) will be a "review class" - that means that you ask questions, on any topic from the entire quarter. There is no "review lesson plan" - just responding to the questions you have on material we have learned - specific problems, concepts, etc. Bring your textbook if you have specific questions.
