TEXTBOOK: Precaclulus with Limits, 2nd edition, 2011, by Ron Larson (with D. Falvo). This is the NEW edition of this book.
GRAPHING CALCULATOR REQUIRED: Capable of graphing functions, polar curves, and parametric curves.
Recommended Models: TI-83, TI-83+, or TI-84+
: The TI-89 is NOT acceptable for quizzes and/or exams in this course. Any calculator that has a computer algebra system built in and can do symbolic algebra can NOT be used for quizzes and exams. A partial list of such calculators is available at http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/calculator.html.
You can not use calculators built into or downloaded onto cell phones, tablets, PDAs, computers, or any other electronic or communication devices on exams or quizzes.
If you own a TI-89 or other calculator with similar capabilities and need to use a graphing calculator for quizzes and exams, you will need to borrow an acceptable model. The library has TI-83, 84, and 86 calculators available for short-term loan to students with a valid DASB card.
