Option B InstructionsOption B is an online version of the training course for new tutors, LRNA 98. We reserve Option B for tutors who have unavoidable conflicts, like a class or child care obligations, that prevent them from coming to the class on Fridays at 1:30-2:20 for the six sessions, beginning the third or fourth week of the quarter.
Reasons why you should do Option A if you possibly can:
- Option B requires somewhat more work, organization, and discipline to complete than Option A.
- It is also not as fun as Option A: you will miss out on some fun group activities.
- If you can make it to at least four of the classes, we urge you to do Option A and attend the classes on campus.
If you must do Option B, here's what you need to do:
- Read and complete the Class Handouts and Make-up Assignments for each class you miss.
- E-mail the Make-up Assignment to your supervisor by the Monday following the Friday class session you missed.
In case of technical difficulties with the makeup assignments, go to http://www.ccsf.edu/Services/LAC/lern10/ and complete the relevant section (reading and assignment).
- Follow along on the blue LRNA 98 Checklist in your yellow folder or download and print out the Spring 2008 LRNA 98I Checklist (MS Word, two very full pages) .
- Do all the homework assignments listed on the Checklist (also listed on the Assignments page
.
Assignments are:
- The pre-class/orientation tasks you are supposed to do before class starts at the end of 4th week
- The 4 Journals
- The Instructor Visit sheet
- Videotape Self-Assessment Sheet
- The Final Essay
All Assignments are due by the (Friday) dates listed on the Option A Checklist or the following Monday.
Please e-mail your supervisor now to confirm that you understand the requirements for Option B, or to clarify any confusion you may have.
Thanks, and we look forward to working with you!
